Conception of fruits and vegetables sector strategy

Every country implementing a reform of a fruits’ and vegetables’ market organization has to
create a nationwide plan. The plan should provide for regulation goals and priorities of fruits’ and
vegetables’ market in the country, potential ways of sponsorship, and also to create a national strategy
for the stability of producers’ organisations. With the continuous increase of concentration of
demand, consolidation of a supply through these organisations is an economical necessity, for any
aspiration to strengthen a position of producers in a market. The article provides Lithuanian fruits
and vegetables sector operational programs strategy and strategic priorities. Methodical provisions
of this research, as well as proposals and recommendations may be applied by preparing final version
of a fruits and vegetables sector strategy.
