Evaluation of the extreme climate change conditions impact to agricultural sector

Abstract

Climate change is one of the challenges we face today, not only in the Lithuanian‘s but also in the world's agricultural sector.  It has a strongly negative impact on the agricultural sector. Climate change manifests itself in various forms, has a different impact on different sectors of agri-culture, is affecting differently by natural conditions in different regions.
The article presents the European Regional Policy institute‘s study, which was designed to determine the expected impact of the climate change in the agricultural sector and the extent of its possible negative consequences of mitigation measures, methods and results.
 The investigation was made in an expert rating, which was combined with structured in-terview (questionnaire survey for agricultural experts, mostly scientists) set that the expected climate change on the agricultural sector and the extent of its possible negative consequences of mitigation measures.
