Application of expert evaluation in the analysis of innovation development factors: assessment of Lithuanian innovative enterprises
The paper analyzes the issues of innovation development in Lithuania. Meanwhile, the position of Lithuania is somehow deteriorated at the national, regional, and international levels in the area of innovation and thus needs to be improved. The following problem of the research was therefore defined: which particular factors causes subdued innovation development processes in Lithuanian enterprises, i. e. which factors disturb the innovative activity of enterprises. The subject of the research is innovation development factors in the innovative Lithuanian enterprises. The aim of the study was to evaluate the most important innovation development factors in innovative Lithuanian
enterprises by employing expert evaluation method. The following methods were applied during the research: literature analysis, expert evaluation, PEST analysis, statistical analysis. As a result of the carried out research, an expert evaluation procedure for innovation development research has been prepared and validated. The outcomes of the research enabled to identify the main factors causing a suppressing impact on subdued innovation development in Lithuania. Besides, the main factors causing relatively small share of innovative enterprises in the economy as well as those inhibiting innovative activity of enterprises were revealed. The results of the research, consequently, might be important for further studies, innovation policy-making, and strategic management decision support.
